Made by hand, understood by science.
Plexus is a wood workshop in Amman, Jordan — where furniture and sculptural objects are shaped by hand from solid timber, stone, copper and limewash. We make things meant to age well and outlive us.

He starts with the wood, not the drawing.
Mohammad is a designer and wood engineer based in Amman — and one of very few people in the Middle East formally trained in the subject. That rarity is not an accident. The region has almost no timber industry: wood arrives here as an import, and there is nowhere local to study it properly. So he left to learn it.
A master's in timber industry engineering at the University of Sopron in Hungary — one of Europe's oldest schools of wood science — after a first degree in industrial engineering at the University of Jordan. His research there worked on getting real structural strength out of fast-growing, low-value species: the timber nobody wants. Then he came home and started Plexus.

The difference between decorating a material and understanding one.
Most furniture begins with a drawing, and a material is chosen afterwards to build it in. Plexus works the other way round — beginning with the wood: what it can carry, how it will move with the seasons, where it will split and where it will hold — and letting the design come out of that. It is a difference you can feel in a piece long before you could explain it.
A one-man workshop, deliberately wide in range — a lit wall of shelving for a record collection at one end, carved objects small enough to hold in one hand at the other.
Furniture & objects
Bespoke furniture and sculptural pieces in solid wood — and a first-of-its-kind studio that turns your photo into a 3D model, then into a real, hand-carved piece.

Wood research & engineering
Wood testing, sample testing & grading, prototype creation, and material research — the technical side of timber, for makers and projects that need it.

Not just hands — a full fabrication floor
From a sketch to a finished object — wood, metal, leather and stone, joined by hand and by machine, all under one roof in Amman.
Hand joinery
Mortise-and-tenon, carving and hand-finishing — the human hand at the centre of everything.
Laser cutting & engraving
Precise cuts and engraving — logos, Arabic calligraphy and intricate patterns in wood, leather and acrylic.
CNC machining
Complex 3D forms and repeatable precision — relief panels, mashrabiya and production runs.
3D printing
Rapid prototypes, custom fittings and jigs — we test an idea before committing it to wood.
Leather station
Straps, upholstery and leather-and-wood goods, cut and stitched in-house.
Sewing & upholstery
Cushions, soft furnishings and finishing — the soft side of a hard-material shop.
Milling
Dimensioning raw timber from the log and preparing custom profiles to spec.
Metal forming
Brass, copper and steel — legs, frames, hardware and inlays, formed and finished here.
Granite & stone
Stone tops, bases and inlays — wood-and-stone fusion most workshops can't touch.

What we can make for you
Custom furniture & objects
Designed and built to your space, in solid wood and mixed materials.
Bespoke shelving & libraries
Floating shelves, freestanding bookcases and built-in libraries, made to measure.
Prototyping & product development
From idea to 3D render to a working prototype — we develop products, not just pieces.
Brand & white-label production
Logo-engraved, branded goods produced for cafés, hotels and brands.
Laser engraving, signage & wall art
Precision engraving, Arabic calligraphy, signage and decorative panels.
Mixed-material pieces
Wood with metal, leather, glass or stone — fusions most workshops can't make.
Restoration & repair
